When I was 3 1/2 years old, I started Irish Dancing after copying my sister when she practiced at home, and I was instantly hooked.
The feeling of finally nailing a move was so satisfying, and soaring across the stage at a competition was incredible.
I won my first oireachtas when I was 9 years old and knew that I'd never stop pushing myself.
Winning All Scotland's in 2016, my first overseas win, I realized how in love with Irish dance I'd become. I knew that no matter how difficult it got, I would never be able to quit.
The motivation and drive to dance better every time I put my shoes on increases every day.
Every time I'm onstage, I lose myself in the performance.
I'm constantly determined to dance as well as I can every competition and to achieve my goals.
Winning and placing well is, of course, a huge part of dance, but the joy of performing for the judges and everyone in the audience is what keeps me going the most.
Irish dance is a magical experience that I am so grateful to have and so excited to continue with. ~Simone
